BYWAY #1 (nr Lucin UT)

BYWAY #1 (nr Lucin UT)

Images in this series show the Central Pacific Railroad's final construction toward Promontory in 1869. The area is uninhabited.

Many structures are likely original. Most rail traffic was shifted onto the Lucin Cutoff across Great Salt Lake in 1904. In 1942, tracks on this original section were removed and reprocessed for WWII.

Lucin is not even a ghost town anymore, just a "site" with a bullet-scarred sign.
