POST OFFICE RUN (Rt 66 Depew OK)
Rain glistens on original concrete that was Route 66 for two years. This woman is running back to her car after going into the Post Office at right.
In 1928 Depew became the first entire town taken off Rt 66. Some of the early bypass is still visible north of town next to modern Rt 66--two lanes of blacktop. Then in 1953 came the Turner Turnpike, also called I-44. The nearest entrance is 7-miles away.
