BYGONES (Rt 66 Amboy CA)

BYGONES (Rt 66 Amboy CA)

In back is Roy's 1950s motel, made necessary by Route 66 business that filled the original cabins.

The cars are mid-50s relics with different but similar reasons for being. The red Imperial was an attempt by Chrysler to move upmarket and pick up status. The grey and white Clipper was an effort by Packard to move downmarket and gain volume.

Both failed in their mission and both companies are gone, although Chrysler is still a brand of FCA.
