The Pacific Electric Trail crosses overhead at an oblique angle--using right-of-way from an old rail line. This lucky driver has Route 66 all to himself, heading east on a Sunday morning. An artistic effect has been added to this image.

Too bad Route 66 wasn't given due respect when the Interstates were built. Compare this to the narrow one-lane tunnel under I-40 near Montoya NM!
