SIDEVIEW LOOKING UP (Nicholson PA)
The Tunkhannock Viaduct emerges from a hillside at right and begins to soar over a town and valley. The arches are 240 feet up.
From this angle, concrete detail work almost seems to presage WPA-era eagles that decorate post offices and other government buildings.
The reinforced concrete base has been degraded by erosion and road salt. Some rebar is now exposed, just out of view around the side.
