SIDEVIEW LOOKING UP (Lanesboro PA)

The locally-quarried bluestone is in a random ashlar pattern and some detail work is quite beautiful. Many cutting marks from the 1840s are visible throughout. At the extreme bottom a few stones have received a concrete overlay to arrest damage.

The viaduct still handles freight trains pulled by diesels. Steam is only a memory. Some historic images are available on railfan sites.
