STONE RR BRIDGE #2 (nr Trinidad CO)

STONE RR BRIDGE #2 (nr Trinidad CO)

A private 27-mile Santa Fe Trail toll road, built by "Uncle Dick" Wootton opened through the Raton Pass here in 1865. Within a few years, the AT&SF railroad had built over, under, and around it--buying out Wootton.

This railroad bridge has a dual underpass for vehicles. Only one is still used, to access a private ranch with multiple owners.
