Two classics got together, by happenstance, for this shot. The windshield is on a 100th anniversary Harley-Davidson motorcycle owned by a Pennsylvania couple. This is just how they parked it, framing a classic 1932 Standard gas station and its lone gravity-pump.

The original two-lane version of Rt 66 is just out of view here in Odell IL, about 80 miles south of Chicago.

The station, in near-ruins a few years ago, has been lovingly restored by the town of 1000, and is now a major tourist attraction. Enough so that the couple from Pennsylvania spent quite some time inside. Then they were off again on the big Harley--bound for California on vacation--and planning to take Rt 66 as much as possible.
